Labor Day Weekend!

Last Thursday we headed to Arkansas for a long weekend.  We stayed with Jeanne and Dennis on Thursday night so we could see them and Derek's little family.
Baby Eli is 7 weeks old and as cute as a button!

Little Em still gives the best hugs in Arkansas!

Jeanne's birthday is this week, but since we were all together last week Val ordered a cake and we surprised her with a little birthday party.  Derek managed to sneak the cake in and hide it in the bathtub until after dinner!  The boys whispered about the "party" the entire time so I'm not sure how much of a secret it really was.

Our next stop was the cabin! My grandpa built the cabin for our family before he died so it's probably my favorite place on earth.  (If you look close at the picture you will see that the little guy in the background is Boston.)

Some of us stayed in the cabin, but others set up tents.  The last 2 years we've had a camper, but this year Bran and I slept in the main bedroom.  You can also see the side of the pavilion in this picture.  The tree line behind the tents is actually the river.

There is never a shortage of cousins to put on make-up with!
Cade got his nails done and then went fishing!

Back from fishing...with the biggest fish and a fabulous manicure!

Nat was just in LOVE with kittens Aunt Connie brought.
(I'm not sure they were all in love with her)

Little Will was into everything!

Of course you can't have a weekend together without a little friendly competition!  We all had 10 chances to hit the ball with the plastic bat...Riley kicked all of our butts by betting 9 out of 10 hits. (you can see the cabin in the background of this picture)

And no game is complete without a little throw down!

It's always wonderful to have a new baby around the cabin...courtesy of MaryAnne and Dustin  we will have a 6 month old next year!

"Uncle" Brandon showed up Sunday with the boat thingies.  You can't see him, but that's Boston driving the truck down to the river.

Brandon may look like he's trying to save someone from the river...

That's because he is!  Dustin "helped" Boston
into the river from the bank.

We can't get wifi on our laptops,
needless to say our iphones got a lot of use!

Aunt Connie was nice enough to fry up the boys fish.

Cade was very very proud of his!
Sometimes you have to get creative at the cabin.
Mema gave Will and Nat ice chest rides!

Look at Nat's hair! It's soooo long and beautiful!

We never have a shortage of great food!

or pets...
and there is always someone around to put you in your place...

Boston is the best big cousin.  He loves our little
Nat and she LOVES her "Boton"

Gram, Aunt Connie and Uncle Mark
It was such a wonderful 5 days!  We're already counting the days till next year!
